Since Kay's departure for seminary, the NGNG choir has been led by Gwen Downey. We would invite anyone interested in sharing this worship ministry to join us for rehearsals, at 5:30 on Monday evenings, and 9:15 Sunday mornings. In addition to our regular worship services, the choir leads us for Advent Lessons and Carols, and Ascension's Heritage Month services in July. All voices and abilities are welcome!

Many years ago our then Music Director, Kay Reynolds (now The Reverend Kay Reynolds) taught our small but enthuisastic choir her own version of musical terminology. Today we still refer to obligatos as "obble-gobbles" and free accompaniment on the final verse as "ditty on the last" - DOL for short. But her most enduring legacy was the motto that serves the choir to this day. When she needed a particulary difficult piece for a service, often at the last minute, she would answer the choir's objections by saying, "No guts, no glory."
