Lay readers are an important part of every worship service, reading the Old Testament and Epistle and leading the Psalm and Prayers of the People. Ascension encourages everyone to participate in this ministry.
For those seeking even more service opportunities, a course of study is offered leading to licensure as a Chalice Bearer. Licensed Chalice Bearers assist the priest at the Eucharist, and serve as worship leaders, holding Morning Prayer services on those times when the priest is unavailable.
