Calling all kids... and their parents!
Summer vacation has ended, school has begun, and ARK (Ascension's Remarkable Kids) Sunday School is back in session and ready for fall! We have finally adjusted to our new space, we have enjoyed our new materials, and we have appreciated seeing new faces in our Sunday school classes.
Our goal for this fall is to increase Sunday school enrollment and develop regular visitors to our program. In order to do so, some slight changes are taking place. First, our classroom, which was envisioned as a multi-use room, will soon be divided so that school-age readers and writers will have the opportunity to work on more grade-specific items rather than our Pre-K and Kindergarten items.
In addition to making changes to the classroom, we plan to try a Parents' Night Out once per month. Our hope is that parents will bring their children to the church on a Friday or Saturday evening (dates are still to be determined), and allow us to watch the children while parents enjoy an evening out. The cost for these Parents' Nights Out will be only $5 and include dinner for each child.
As a result of creating two teaching areas for Sunday school and developing a Parents' Night Out, we are in need of some great teachers for classes and volunteers to spend time with our children!
